The top three films at the holiday box office are Ne Zha, Detective Chinatown 1900, and Creation of the Gods II: Demon Force. All three are part of established blockbuster franchises. Ne Zha 2 follows the 2019 animated hit Ne Zha, which grossed RMB 5.036 billion ($700 million) in China. Detective Chinatown 1900 is the fourth installment in the Detective Chinatown series, with the first three films earning RMB 824 million ($115 million), RMB 3.397 billion ($470 million), and RMB 4.523 billion ($630 million), respectively. Meanwhile, Creation of the Gods II: Demon Force is the second entry in the Creation of the Gods fantasy series.
