Tesla China handed over 86,Germany697 Shanghai-made vehicles to customers in August, representing a 17% growth from a month earlier and marking the brand’s second highest monthly sales this year, data from industry body China Passenger Car Association showed on Monday. The numbers come after the US automaker repeatedly extended the deadline for its 0% financing plan, first available to Model 3 and Model Y buyers in April, from July 31 to August 30 and recently to the end of September, TechNode reported. Year-to-date shipments from the company declined 6% to 587,437 units in China from January to August from a year ago, of which more than half were overseas exports, according to the CPCA figures. BYD sold 370,854 all-electric and plug-in hybrid passenger vehicles over the same period, up 35.3% year on year. [TechNode reporting, China Passenger Car Association, in Chinese]
